We proudly present this collection of writings created by the students of the inaugural season of School of the Scribes. This book holds more than a compilation of poems and stories, but the fruit of a journey that unfolded over twelve weeks, as writers gathered to sharpen their senses, refine their expression, and grow in their ability to translate thought, revelation, and experience into written language.
Throughout the course, we watched, read, learned, and processed together. Each student approached their craft with intention, practicing the discipline of observation, reflection, and articulation. We learned to steward the times by stewarding language and speaking the unspoken.
Historically, scribes have served as record keepers, translators, and witnesses. They connect generations by preserving the stories, revelations, and events that shape people and culture. With writing being a bridge across time, we understand it not only as creative power but also an act of sacred responsibility.
This book is published to honor and celebrate the completion of the first season of School of the Scribes. Of the works presented in these pages, you will find some to be direct and distinct, while others more ambiguous, inviting deeper contemplation. Some take the form of poetry, while others unfold as reflections or stories. Together they represent a variety of voices, perspectives, and expressions, and we hope you enjoy it.
